Special Award for outstanding contribution in providing coronary & non-coronary interventions in J&K.

Interventional cardiology has seen a new light in Jammu and Kashmir since the day Dr Sushil Sharma started doing interventions both coronary as well as non- coronary. He has performed more than 15000 simple and complex interventional procedures. This is accompanied with lowest mortality rate in whole of the Northern India. Recently, the state government rewarded him with ‘Award for Meritorious Public Services-2013’ for the establishment of angioplasty centre in Government College, Jammu. Health for All is the noble Constitutional Vision but he believes that some sections of the society are more vulnerable in comparison to their other counterparts. With this aspect in mind, he has conducted majority of his medical camps with the refugees, migrants due to Cross-Loc tensions, women, children (especially children living in childcare institutions), elderly persons (esp. Old age Homes), internally displaced people, migrant workers and rural population.
