Dr (Col.) C. S. Pant:
Special Award for promoting Awareness on Breast Cancer
Dr Col. C.S. Pant, VSM, Senior Consultant at Pant Diagnostics Pvt Ltd, is a stalwart in the field of radiology. He is widely regarded as a father figure in the field of breast imaging in the country. However, what is not common knowledge is his immense contribution to both preventive and curative medicine in rural Kumaon though his NGO Aarohi thanks to his self-effacing nature.
In order to make people aware of the importance of early detection of breast cancer, he along with other doctors, survivors of the disease and social workers, set up an NGO known as the “Forum for Breast Protection” in the year 2002. The activities of the forum include screening of several films on awareness of breast cancer.
