MD (Medicine), DM (Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine), Dr Randeep Guleria is Director, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. He is the first DM in Pulmonary Medicine in the country. He is the recipient of several awards & honours including the prestigious Padma Shri in 2015; Dr B.C. Roy award for Eminent Medical Person in 2014; Himachal Gaurav Puraskar in 2011; LIC-Zee TV Swastha Bharat Samman in 2010; Times Healthcare Achievers Award in the ‘Legends’ category; ‘Doctor of the Decade’ award by the Indian Medical Association and “National Excellence Award” by the TP Jhunjhunwala Foundation for 2017-2018. He has delivered more than eight prestigious national and international orations. He is credited with publishing research papers in more than 450 publications; 49 chapters; 50 research grants and delivered more than 300 guest lectures. He was personal physician to the Prime Minister of India from 1998 to 2004.
