Dr Nimesh G Desai:
Outstanding Work in Mental Illness

Dr Desai has made immense contribution to the development of Institute of Human Behavior and Allied Sciences (IHBAS), Delhi, India since he assumed its charge as the Director in April 2010 and again from May 2016. He has helped IHBAS to achieve the status of “An Institute of National Importance”. He served on the faculty of two of the best academic institutions (National Institute of Mental Health & Neurosciences or NIMHANS, Bangalore for 6 years, from 1982 to 1988; AIIMS, Delhi for 10 years from 1988 to 1998). He joined IHBAS in 1998, and has served there for 11 years as Head, Department of Psychiatry and also as Medical Superintendent of the IHBAS for most of those years.
